So... I've graduated from uni, and I've been home for like AGES now. I've been doing LOADS! Job-hunting, taking it (really) easy, being all creative-y and stuff. Been out partying every week. Been keeping my nails looking (nearly really) sick. Haven't ACTUALLY been to the gym but MEH. I've moved all my stuff home from uni, moved all The Blob's stuff home from his uni. Had a graduation ceremony (they read my name out wrong), had a few interviews for jobs (no luck yet though), cleaned the WHOLE of The Blob's house. Made loooads of desserts! Been cooking and eating, cooking and eating.
I'm not really on holiday either. But I feel as though I'm entitled to a few months of blah after a whole year at university. You agree with me, I know you do.
I've kind of neglected my blog (sorry blog), but I'm going to make sure I make more of an effort to give it more attention, because you never know, people might enjoy reading my rubbish.
Nail post coming up. And then probably a food post. Might just alternate between food and nails from now on. And if you LURVE it, then we're probz soul mates init.

Probably the cutest video ever.
If you don't find this utterly adorable, you're most probably heartless.
The age-old tale of playground romance, but perhaps a little closer to my heart because it's in school in Malaysia, and his speech, his manner, his gestures remind me of family and friends (HARRO YOU GUYZ!).
Admit it, the last thirty seconds made you smile.

Mei's Top Tip #1
Ladies and gays, never, I repeat, NEVER, wear your handbag on the shoulder of the arm holding your drink. It's not a safe bet. My advice is to switch the drink or the bag to the other side to prevent further catastrophe.
If you choose to flout danger, and go all one-sided with your beverage and bag, then you will inevitably curse (loudly) when your handbag slides off your elegantly sloped shoulder, causing your scalding tea to splash on your wrist, or your Rubicon to swamp your laptop keyboard.
Don't say I didn't warn you.
Toodles babezez.

So Good
1. I never saw Will as a good-looker, but now... well... yeh... Hiiiii Wiiiiiill ;)
2. Q looks as though he's losing his hairline and embracing The Forehead.
3. Big Mike still has a gorgeous voice, but you can SO tell the director didn't know how to deal with the size of him and thought 'yeh, we'll just sit him down and stick a girl on him and no one will ever even notice he's fat'... and in the close-ups of his face, he looks like a girl.
4. The funniest part - the two doing the ad-libs: one has got RIDICULOUS hair. Even JLS don't have hair THAT bad. Patterns and curls on one head? Sack the barber init. And the one with the braids? HILARITY! His hyping for the camera means the girl looks as though she's clinging on for dear life (around 3:54). However, the harmonies these two do for the ad libs are wicked.
Actually, in general, they are all vocally strong. This is probably one of the better tracks on the album. And I do like Day26... I just can't take anything PDiddy does seriously these days... He's going to mess them up some way or another.
All in all, a rather pleasant experience. Unintentional humour is always a plus.
Have a nice day now :)

Spelling Mistakes
What a boring blog title...
But, if you know me, you'll know I can't stand poor spelling. The odd mistake is fine. However, if you are over the age of 16 and constantly misspell many words (in your already limited vocabulary) and your grammar is crippled and downright offensive, you need to go back to school. Twitter, as much as I adore it, is maddening, when so many people are ignorant to STANDARD ENGLISH.
there/their/they're
of/have
you're/your
were/where/we're
IT IS NOT ROCKET SCIENCE.
If you grew up in the UK, you have had at least 12 years of compulsory education. You really have no excuse.
Twitter made me laugh though...

And alzo I do not write on zi PTC blog ,I feel well and truly blessed to feel as though I am welcome in zi bosom of Jo Fuertes Knight.
BTW, FYI, it's totez free an ting an ting. JUST SO YA KNOW!
And I should have written this post AGES ago. But I forgot, because I am a waste-cadet. SORRY YASMIN!

The Fallen of 2009
So many celebrities have died this year.
Michael Jackson
Farrah Fawcett
Patrick Swayze (twice, arguably, thanks to rumours blown way out of proportion on Twitter)
DJ AM...
... to name but a few, and, most recently, Stephen Gately, of Boyzone fame.
Is it because the media have made us more obsessed than ever with the lives of individuals with fame?
Or is it not a coincidence? Is it a huge conspiracy, and someone or some group of powerful people is slowly killing off anyone that the public liked or identified with, because these celebs all knew a massive secret regarding world domination or something?
I dunno. Just a thought...

My life is over.
Yes, I am aware that this makes me sad.
And yes, I do have revision that I could be getting on with.
And yes, I did also upload this picture onto facebook and tag all my twitter-buddies.
And yes, I am actually twiddling my thumbs and visiting the page once every 3 minutes to see if it's back to normal.
Yes, I am a self-confessed twitter-whore.
And a loser.

It's about time...
So... The latest I've heard is that there is to be a new hand-drawn animated feature-length film from the powerhouse that is Disney.
So far Disney's fairy tales have starred mainly caucasion princes and princesses. Then Pocahontas (Native American) and Aladin and Princess Jasmine (Arabian) came along, closely followed by Mulan (Chinese) [my favourite - BLATES].
The Princess and the Frog, however is the first Disney fairy tale to star a black princess. It's about bloody time I say.

Anika Noni Rose, who played Lorrell Robinson in Dreamgirls, is literally playing a part in Disney history as she voices the first black starring role. Apparently, she beat Jennifer Hudson, Tyra Banks and Alicia Keys to the job.
Looks quite good to me...

The Master Shortie Experience
Ok, so last night, I was notified that Master Shortie, who happens to be a friend of mine, was going to be in Reading for a gig. Now, this is my uni town and for once I'm ABOUT. (which is rarely ever the case, but WAHEY! I'm sensing blog-worthy experiences to be had!)
So... *PING!* (BB)...
I get the invite.
Master Shortie has just finished his nationwide tour, supporting Basement Jaxx, playing some of the best venues across the country. He's now touring with The King Blues, playing at universities and other venues around the south of England. Reading was on the list.
Tonight, I was picked up by the man himself, and we drove down to my uni to commence with gig activities. (The guy was actually on time, for once - I was banking on the 'late' time to get ready; I had to finish my make up in the backstage bathrooms, trust me *panics and empties make-up bag into clutch bag*).
MS performed with his guitarist, and his drummer, Sweetsticks. Cool company. The tour manager and engineer had me cracking up, backstage. They make a good team; you can tell they have fun out on the road together.
It was a tough crowd. At first, no one really seemed too impressed by the dude on stage in faded skinnies, mickey mouse tshirt, leather jacket and a cravat. But I have to give credit where it's due. MS has an amazing stage presence, his energy is contagious, and being an all-round good performer, he won the crowd over. High five to you, dude.

Watch out for his singles, Rope Chain, Dead End and Dance Like a White Boy, and later this year, his debut album ADHD (Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder).
We were meant to join my friend's birthday party out in Reading town, but true to style, always on the go, I had to be dropped off home, abandoned, because he was getting calls to say Asher Roth was waiting to meet him in Movida. He's back in Swindon tomorrow for the Radio1 Big Weekender event, and flying to New York on Sunday morning to re-record the video for Dead End. Oh, the life and times of a star in the making...
[The night also involved: knife wielding; screaming matches (in jest); drink & cheese theft; chatting up of random crowd-members; the (almost) exposure of VERY drunk girl (who was in my halls last year LOL); driving the wrong way up my one-way street; images of pornographic content that I did NOT want to see (mine eyes!!) on phones; pain-killers; spilt drinks (everywhere); ice missiles; broken drumsticks; lost keys; vomitting guitarist (other band); a LOT of laughing; general fun init]
Good luck MS, I hope you go far.

Summer Term
First day of the summer term -back at uni.
*sighs*
Can't be bothered. I'm going to go and sit in the sun until the hayfever makes mince meat of me. And revise obviously. (Once again, by 'revise', I mean 'read for the first time').
Edit: high five everybody who made 100% effort for the summer outfits. I totally regret wearing tights today. Although, if you have horrible feet, please consider the public before breaking out your sandals, and if you do insist on wearing such articles of footwear, make sure they FIT your feet and your toes aren't hanging over the edge. one word. EWW.

My morning commute
I actually hate, with a PASSION, anyone who makes me move my (wet - it's raining) bag onto my lap WHEN THERE ARE OTHER SEATS AVAILABLE. This guy didn't even ASK, he just sat on the chair nudging my bag with his fat arse until I could put down my coffee to move it. Mr, you are taking the piss. I don't care if you've got a hearing aid and you breathe like a heffalump, there were seats closer to the freakin door and I don't WANT to get my trousers wet or put my bag on the dirty floor.
Come on... It's not hard to understand. Just don't sit next to me.
Edit: and I wanted to eat my cinimon swirl but I CAN'T because my lap is piled with damp coat and bag and I'm trying not to spill my coffee, and Mr Hearing Aid is breathing tar and nicotine spores all over me. Not risking it.

CAR WASH!
Just washed my car for the first time since I've had it (nearly 3 years).
(Other people have washed it, like my mum and my bro, and the mechanics when it has it's MOT, but I'm too lazy).
Reason for previously unprecendented action?
So I don't have to revise (read for the first time) Villette by Charlotte Bronte.
(400 something pages of nothing exciting...)
It was all ok until my mum squirted my face with the hose. Then I got huffy. And it wasn't fun anymore.

Yeezy on South Park
_0.jpg)
I, for one, actually love Yeezy. He is easily recognisable as a huge part of the music industry (commerical and the urr-ban) and through his producing as well as his own records he has somewhat altered the sound of youth today. He is a bighead. But so what? It's entertaining!
Plus his blog is SICK!
Taken from the BBC news entertainment article on Kanye West's comments following his featuring on South Park:
Rapper Kanye West has said that he was "murdered" in an episode of animated US show South Park, but found his negative portrayal "pretty funny".
West, who was shown as out-of-touch and self-centred in Wednesday night's edition, wrote on his blog that he had been "working on my ego".
He added that he was sure the South Park writers were "nice people in real life", and said it was an honour to be captured by the show's animators.
Yeh... SURE!
We all know that, secretly, Kanye West is PISSED he got slated!
He posted his reaction to the episode on his blog - [click here to view]
But, I don't believe him. He's more pissed than he makes himself out to be. Trust me.
Although... it IS nice to see that he realises that:
"AS LONG AS PEOPLE THINK I ACT LIKE A BITCH THIS TYPE OF SHIT WILL HAPPEN TO ME. I GOT A LONG ROAD AHEAD OF ME TO MAKE PEOPLE BELIEVE I'M NOT ACTUALLY A HUGE DOUCHE".It probably is time to stop acting like such a twat, but we know that some twats are successful (e.g. Simon Cowell, Gordon Ramsey, Alan Sugar [SAS -lol]) because of their intelligence.
It seems to be all relative when you're famous.
Bah! Well, Yeezy, I still love you :)

Transformers

In light of the second installment of the EPIC Transformers, out this summer (YAY!), I managed to finally get my brother to witness the brilliance of the first film last night. So, last night, me, Pher (my bro) and my boyfriend sat down to watch la masterpiece.
I never actually got to see this film in the cinema (I KNOW, SHUT UP) because of work committments and friends that can't keep promises (lol), then when I got the dvd I wanted to wait until I could watch it on a big enough screen to do it justice. Well worth the wait. I KNEW i would love it, definitely my type of film. I've watched it about six times in the last three months alone.
A fact which baffles my brother.
Pher: "Why do you LIKE this film?"
Moi: "WHAAJUUUMEEEEAAAN?!"
Pher: "It's a BOYS' film!"
Moi: "NO IT'S NOT!"
Pher & my boyf: (simultaneously) "Uhhhh... Yah, it SO is."
Now, I sincerely doubt that the Hollywood peeps behind this film made this film SOLELY for men and boys. It's not logical in a money-hungry industry. It's not a "boys' film". It's not. It's not. It's not.
But just to double-check...
Things I like: (in no particular order)
- soundtrack
- cast (Shia LeBouf was a GENIUS choice, as was the Defense Secretary guy and pretty much EVERY character)
- hot woman
- other hot woman (who is slyly hotter than Megan Fox - yeh I said it!)
- sound effects (deserves it's own bullet point)
- the actual transformations that the autobots make (hence, why I also said sound effects)
- SFX in general
- the colours (particularly Bumblebee and Optimus Prime - they look so COOL)
- the storyline
- how the autobots choose the first (hot) piece of automobile to imitate
- bumblebee (he's such a HERO! - I wish my car could transform and be my bodyguard)
- Optimus Prime's voice (played by Peter Cullen from the original series - his voice alone makes this film epic!!)
- Bernie Mac
- HUUUGE fight scenes
- the comedy (it's a well-written script)
- location
- etc, etc.
Are these boyish things? or unisexual things?
It's not a "boys' film". It's not. It's not. It's not.
I am a GIRL and I like it.
So there.
Can't WAIT till the new release!!
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEHHH!!!
(See, told you I'm a girl)
