Kelly Jade Nicholls

Last Friday, I had the pleasure of modelling some garments for Kelly Jade Nicholls, a talented designer from South London. Having previously heard of this designer, and seeing some of her collections online on her website and facebook group, I was pretty much like "OSSUM!" when she asked me to model some of her latest collection at the Stitching The Gap event for Urban fashion and performers, held in The Shaw Theatre, Kings Cross, in aid of the African Caribbean Leukaemia Trust.

So, yeh, I did - XD

I was quite disappointed with some of the other designers' sections of the shows. It seemed a bit disorganised and not well enough rehearsed. But I think the organisers did well in running the event because I could see it was stressful.

And Kelly's a SWEETHEART! One of the nicest people I've met in a long time. So for her talent and personality, I hope she goes far.

Chapter three of ‘Sarah’s Escapades’

Chapter three of ‘Sarah’s Escapades’.

So. Now for 2009…

As you may be aware, from previous posts, after the finals of CatwalkLive 2008, I was entered into the Grand Final of MISS TOP MODEL UK 2009.
The final is in March, on the 27th, to be precise.
And this competition is a big nationwide thing.
And it’s going to be televised.
So… Yeh. This is kind of a big deal.
EEEEEEEEEEEKKKK!

Thank you for your support for CatwalkLive. I’m hoping I can rely on your support again for Miss Top Model UK.

**There is a text vote for this thing too.
So, if you feel like voting, text: MODEL 25 to 88010.
All proceeds go to Walk the Walk who support vital breast cancer causes.**
(again, don’t text vote from abroad please. I have NO idea what that would do to your phone bill)

If you don’t want to vote, ‘tis cool, being a member of the facebook group means the most anyway, whether you’re a friend from way back, an acquaintance, or even if we’ve never met. Texts, messages and wall posts from some of you last time really motivated me, and I’m glad I have friends who support me and my moves :D

old post from facebook *CATWALKLIVE FINALS DEC 2008*

**thank you to everyone who supported me for this event. MWAH!**

Hey dudes,
So here’s what happened…

Saturday was a surprisingly stressful day. Arrived at the venue at 2.30pm with the other girls to do prep and rehearsals and last minute outfit check… blah blah blah… after HOURS of tension, nerves, excitement and adrenaline (and half a sandwich each practically) we hit the runway at 9.freakin.30pm.
Bit late, oh well.
So, from 3 previous rounds of about 20 girls each, the grand finals had 16 girls competing.
On the night, after 3 outfit changes, they narrowed this down to 8 girls, me being one of them.
Then down to four girls.
Top four were:
Joint second runners up: Cindy & Tessa
First runner up: ME =D
Winner: Nicole Tham.

Nicole’s SIXTEEN =O(and mixed with british too, like moi, actually, so is Tessa. Lol Cindy was the only fully Chinese girl)

BUT... The judges said Nicole & I were really close…
So they gave me the first prize too =D

They entered Nicole into the finals of Miss Top Model UK 2009, and entered me too. So basically, we’re in another grand final. In March.

Caroline Ye Chin Le won the People’s Choice award.

Didn’t end up leaving the venue until, like, 2am, after mingling and smiling and posing more.

By this time I’m practically swaying on my feet (in my SEXY SHOES =D), and la boyf is bored beyond belief and getting high on helium from random balloons. Pleb. Hit Bagel King on the way home and crashed for the night.

SO…. I’d like to thank everyone who joined the group for your support. And thank you, even more, to those who texted in to vote. I can’t thank you enough because I really appreciated the gestures you made. Considering I haven’t seen some of you in years, or if we don’t see each other as much as I’d like to, I’m glad that I have friends who showed their support. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
For David, James and John, special thanks for your hardcore recruiting.
Michelle, Lizzie B, Joanna, Noob, James, Rachel, Vicky, Rosalind, Elliot, Kai and Jon, thanks for your support.
For Gynelle, JAM, and Olu (H-B!) thanks for making me smile on Saturday.
For JCD, the rascal, thanks for getting me into this, and for your encouragement and support.

For my boyfriend, the utmost thanks for your unfailing support (and, at times, spirit-crushing - you DIV), texting my mum updates, and your presence at every event. I’m glad they played your track for my final walk. It meant a lot to me and I hope you weren’t too embarrassed (high five to P for keeping that secret safe). Couldn’t have done it without your face (2 feet above every other face lol) in the crowd.
Thanks to all my competitors from heat 3 and the grand final on Saturday.

Congratulations to everyone, congratulations to the top other 7 and congratulations to Tessa, Cindy and the winner, Nicole. ♥

Thank you, guys ♥

(I credit the Canon-tastic Mr Jon Devo with the most of the images I use from CatwalkLive)

I'm really glad I took the initiative to make my outfit a bit different. A mens' Longtail Tux Jacket, mens' shirt, and a bow tie and cumberbund set... Well, if it didn't impress you, I hope it made you laugh... XD

Old posts from facebook *CATWALKLIVE DECEMBER 2008*

Ok, so if I’ve spoken to you recently, I’ve probably BORED you with my activities, if not, here is your update to one of my latest projects.
Waaaay back in September, I was entered (kind of unwittingly -thanks JD for not properly explaining) into a competition for oriental women (yes, I’m part oriental - chinese/malaysian/retard/english) for models and fashion and blah blah blah.
I did pretty well in my heat, got a LOT of love, had a lot of fun, met a couple useful contacts, made some good friends.SO.... I’m in the final (yay me!) and there's an opportunity to win stuff. Mainly a contract with an agency. I'm not so worried about winning, because I aim to start grafting properly in 2009 anyway and hopefully catapult myself into making some sort of headway into modelling. INCREDIBLY BORING, I KNOW.

Anyway, main point is that I’m doing this competition for the experience, the networking, and for the hell of it BECAUSE CATWALK IS SOOOO FUN!

However, for the finals, there is also a PEOPLE'S VOTE.I keep posting the link for this vote thing on my facebook status, but I thought I'd try doing some hardcore(ish) campaigning, some propaganda, and get some attention to get votes.Hence the creation of the group on facebook, and hence your invitation to aforementioned group. (Plus I’m bored, and this facebook addiction has got me hard)

Basically, once joining, or reading this ESSAY, if you FEEL like supporting me, could you please:* Text CWL10 to 60777 * (COMPETITION FINISHED NOW - DO NOT VOTE ONCE READING THIS)
I’m warning you now, it costs a pound. But if you love me…

If you don’t want to waste a pound, then no worries dude, but post me a message or hit my inbox, or just join the group to show face, because I would appreciate any support from those I count dear.

To those, I’ve invited, I love you all.
To those, who’ve joined but I might not know, heya, have a good week :)
To those who join, thanks
and to those who have already voted HUGS & HIGH FIVES all round!!
MWAH!
xxS

(by the way...F if you don't vote you are officially CRAP xxx
if you're family or supporters from overseas don't waste your money it will prob cost you 20 ringit lol x
and Kai, PLEASE refrain from writing something stupid on the wall x)

Not sure what to make of this... It was appararently a mistake. Either mistaking his .40 calibre for his stun gun or the bullet accidentally ricocheted off the pavement into the guy's lung. But for supposedly being one of a group of guys fighting on a train why would you stun or fire warning shots so close to the arrested anyway? He was already in cuffs and pushed onto his stomach.

The police officer's not even being prosecuted as yet. He just resigned from his dept. Probably out of embarrassment.

I am actually at a loss as to how I feel about the issue. Shock, right now.
